Top 5 Reasons YOU Should Submit to Tapestry

Hey everyone,

As many of you know, we will not be having a Tapestry meeting on Thursday. Why is this? We don't have enough submissions to make the meeting worthwhile. We know that there are so many creative pieces out there that are just waiting to be submitted. So, here are my top 5 reasons that YOU (yes, I'm talking directly to you) should submit to Tapestry.

1) There's nothing to be afraid of. The Tapestry staff is not a collection of angry psychopaths waiting to take out their rage on pieces they don't like. Nothing bad will ever come of submitting.

2) Submitting is a great introduction to having your pieces published. Presenting a piece to a large organization or professional magazine can be daunting and complicated at times. Submitting to Tapestry, on the other hand, is pretty simple, and it's all done within the school walls. If you have any questions, all your answers can be found from students or teachers right here.

3) If your piece doesn't get in, you'll get expert feedback on how to make it better. The Tapestry staff writes comments and recommendations on the pieces that we turn down. Still have questions on how to improve? Come by Manuscript in room 176; the entire Senior Staff has QRT in there, and there will be Manuscript tutors if you need help.

4) Publication in your school's Literal Arts Magazine (that's us) looks great on your college app and resume. This is something that you can point to throughout your career. You won't get published if you don't submit, so don't be afraid!

5) If your piece does get in, Congratulations! You will be able to share your creativity with not only your friends, but also your parents, teachers, and the whole school. Remember, submission is the only path to publication, so go for it!

See you next month!
